This wonderful circuit combines three exquisite wilderness areas, from the heart of the Kruger National Park famous for the Big Five to the pristine wetland environment of Kosi Bay and the unspoilt beaches and crystal waters of Mabibi Bay in the Isimangaliso Wetland Park.
Suggested Itinerary
- Day 1 Johannesburg – Kruger National Park
- Meet at Johannesburg O.R. Tambo airport and transfer to Benoni airfield for a morning flight to Skukuza. Transfer by open 4WD vehicle to your lodge located in a private concession area of the Kruger National Park. The concession offers exclusive use of 12,000 hectares of pristine bushveld. The next four nights will be spent at a combination of Rhino Post Safari Lodge and Plains Camp.
- Day 2-4 Kruger National Park
- Your safari (see page 22 for full details) includes professionally guided game drives and walking trails.
- Day 5 Kruger National Park - Kosi Bay, Isimangaliso Wetland Park
- After brunch, transfer to Skukuza for your flight to Manguzi airstrip and then by road to Kosi Forest lodge. Situated in the Kosi Bay Nature Reserve, this wilderness lodge has eight comfortable thatch and canvas rooms set on wooden decks and a main pool. Guests have the unique opportunity of exploring a pristine wetland environment in guided canoes and vehicles.
- Day 6 Kosi Bay, Isimangaliso Wetland Park
- Enjoy a full day boat trip through various sized lakes and channels with a walk through the famous Kosi Bay fi sh traps, as well as a picnic lunch and a swim. Optional extra activities are available such as a Kosi Mouth Reef visit, Tembe Elephant Park excursion, turtle tracking in season and horse riding.
- Day 7 Kosi Bay – Mabibi Bay, Isimangaliso Wetland Park
- Transfer by road to Thonga Beach Lodge, set in the secluded Mabibi Bay. Mabibi is a magical place of tranquil swimming bays and reefs, coastal forests and exquisite sandy beaches. There are 12 suites with airconditioning and private balcony, and a main pool.
- Day 8 Mabibi Bay, Isimangaliso Wetland Park
- Activities include snorkelling, guided walks, kayaking and sundowners at Lake Sibyaya. Optional extra activities are available such as scuba diving, open ocean experience, turtle tracking in season and sea spa.
- Day 9 Mabibi Bay, Isimangaliso Wetland Park
- Johannesburg Transfer to the airstrip for your flight back to Johannesburg arriving in the afternoon.
