South African Airways
South African Airways has a worldwide network serving 35 cities, 27 countries on six continents. As Africa’s leading carrier, it is consistently voted the ‘Best Airline and Cabin Crew in Africa’. SAA flies non-stop to Africa 13 times a week - six flights out of Sydney (code share with Qantas) and daily flights out of Perth. SAA’s frequent flyer club ‘Voyager’ is free to join. SAA is also a Star Alliance Member.
Qantas
Qantas operates six non-stop four-class B747-400 services between Sydney and Johannesburg per week. Typical flight time is 14 hours and 10 minutes Sydney to Johannesburg, one of the longest non-stop sectors in the Qantas network. The return leg is generally assisted by a favorable tailwind with a typical flying time of only 11 hours and 45 minutes from Johannesburg to Sydney.
Self drive and overland trips also make it possible to arrive into South Africa from neighbouring countries through its many border posts, some of which are open 24 hours a day.
